I’m Russell C. Hadley, a professional computer geek, (very) amateur weightlifter, and crossfit enthusiast.  This is my blog where I complain about how sore I am from workouts, or comment on strange things that occur while trying to ship software for Microsoft.

I live in the Seattle area – Bellevue specifically – where I enjoy the northwest’s craft beers, local coffee roasters, and even the weather.  The Puget Sound region, with it’s immediate ski hills, green forests, water, and funky neighborhoods is one of the best places I’ve ever lived. I’d recommend it to anybody.  Of course there’s those days mid-winter where you haven’t seen the sun in so long you doubt it still exists.

Note on the title: Mechanical Logic is a form of computation based on the linear or angular displacement of physical parts that represent the results of the computation. (sprockets, rods, or balls)  The easiest description is clockworks computing.  You can think of mechanical clocks as computing time, but other designs can provide for mathematical operations like a computer based on transistors. In this context it just means content created with a lot of heat and and movement but of arguable intelect and – depending on where you come down on the Turing test – consciousness.
